It seems a RED V-RAPTOR[X] with Nikon Z-Mount is coming soon – RED allegedly sent out an email stating this, nikonrumors.com/2025/02/10/comign-soon-red-v-raptor-x-camera-with-nikon-z-mount.aspx/, listing (accidentally?) a Z-mount version alongside the usual V-Raptor bodies –
V-RAPTOR[X] Z Mount Starter Pack
V-RAPTOR[X] Z Mount Production Pack (V-Lock)
V-RAPTOR[X] Z Mount Production Pack (Gold Mount)
V-RAPTOR[X] 8K VV Starter Pack
V-RAPTOR[X] 8K VV Production Pack (V-Lock)
V-RAPTOR[X] 8K VV Production Pack (Gold Mount)
V-RAPTOR XL[X] 8K VV Production Pack (V-Lock)
V-RAPTOR XL[X] 8K VV Production Pack (Gold Mount)
Unlike the other brains, resolution and sensor size are not defined, but it is assumed that only the lens mount has been changed.
Accordingly, Phil Holland posted a picture on Instagram with the comment "Zed" www.instagram.com/p/DF6WF8IS8qD/?hl=de, showing this Z-mount with its top-mounted contacts (on the RF-mount they are located at the bottom) in front of a sensor. This can be considered a teaser.
Last September, Nikon confirmed that the Z-mount will "probably" also be used for film recordings, although since RED&s acquisition it was relatively clear that the days of the competing Canon RF-mount were likely numbered. Initially, the Z-mount is apparently being added as an alternative.

Unlike Canon, however, Nikon has not yet launched its own cinema lenses for its mount – corresponding Nikkor focal lengths are still pending. Whether we will see both at NAB in April – as originally prophesied by us www.slashcam.de/news/single/RED-mit-Z-Mount--Nikkor-fuer-Cine--18828.html – a V-RAPTOR[X] with Z-mount and matching Nikkor cinema glass, will be exciting. Even more exciting, however, would be a Komodo-X with a Nikon mount. Or how about you?
