Highspeed specialist Ximea has introduced a new version of its xiB-64 high-speed camera, which can now capture up to 300 frames per second with a resolution of 16 megapixels (4,704 × 3,424 pixels) - the previous top model was limited to 12 megapixels with 333 fps. Via the PCIe 3.0 interface and fiber optic connections, the video data can be transmitted at up to 64 Gbit/s (8,000 MB/s) over distances of up to 300 meters.

The models of the XiB-64 series from Ximea range from variants with 1.1 Mpixel resolution and 3500 fps via those with 12 MP and 330 fps up to 16 MeP with 300 fps - monochrome or colour versions are available. The image sensor is an 18.3 x 13.3 mm Luxima 4/3" color (or monochrome) CMOS with global shutter or a CMOSIS CMV12000 on two models. The different cameras use Canon's EF-Mount lens which allows remote control of aperture, focus and image stabilization. The cameras are designed for special applications and are only 60 x 70 x 55 mm in size with a weight of 268g.
