The official announcement confirms the already circulating features of the new Z Cam E2: it will actually support Cinema-4K with up to 120fps, FullHD slow motion can be captured with up to 240fps. The video data is written in H.264 or H.265 on CFAST 2.0 media -- according to the manufacturer with up to 1.768Mbps in 4K/UHD, which would be an extremely high value at which practically no compression would take place. Whether this is a misrepresentation remains to be seen. A 10bit color depth is also offered. HDMI outputs 4K with max 60fps (10bit). Compared to the E1, the form factor has also changed considerably. The E2 comes in a small cube format -- its form factor is quite a bit like the Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera, but it is slightly larger, 91mm x 98mm x 80mm. The E2 is also equipped with a larger 4/3" Sony CMOS sensor with 4.63𝜇m sensor size; there will also be a global shutter version later. A large number of connection options are available on the housing: HDMI, USB-C, Gigabit Ethernet (e.g. for live streaming), 10-pin LEM, COM (RS232 serial port), LANC, mini jack for microphone, headphone output. WLAN is also integrated. The camera draws power from Sony NP-F batteries, an alternative power supply is possible via LEMO. Image stabilization seems to be missing on the small E2, also a display for the image preview is not on board (only a small digital display for setting values). Since such a camera is typically used in mobile setups, for example with gimbal or on a drone, this is probably less of problem. An app for a live preview and operation seems to come only for iOS. A special feature is the integrated Deep Learning Engine including SDK. It is supposed to recognize image content and could turn the camera into an intelligent remote surveillance camera. The Z Cam E2 will cost 1,999 dollars (without lens). Incidentally, one should bear in mind that recording is no longer on SD cards, but on comparatively expensive CFast cards. It is not known when delivery is to take place. more infos at bei www.z-cam.com deutsche Version dieser Seite: Z Cam E2 Cinematic Camera ist offiziell mit 4K @120fps für 1999 Dollar // NAB 2018 |
