Zhiyun presented a Gimbal at the IBC which is not yet ready for the market. The Crane 3 Lab stands out due to its unusual design, because it has an additional joystick-like handle with various controls and a small status display for controlling the gimbal functions. Its orientation can be changed and it can also be used as a handle for low-angle shots -- in this respect we liked the gimbel very much during a quick hands-on at the stand.  Another advantage of the Crane 3 Lab is its capacity: it should support quite heavy camera setups -- max. load approx. 4.5Kg --. The Ronin-S, for example, offers a maximum load of 3.6Kg in comparison. However, as always the question remains, how suitable a one-handed gimbal is at all for such heavy combinations. Here you still have the extra grip for holding (in addition to the centre column). The Crane 3 is operated with non-proprietary batteries, the performance should last for 18 hours according to the manufacturer.
Furthermore, the Gimbal has a small transmitter box which is connected to the camera via HDMI and communicates with a smartphone via WLAN. Thus one gets there a high-resolution preview picture from the camera and extensive remote functions by App, in order to change among other things camera attitudes. A G-Mode Mimic Control is also to be implemented, in which the movements of the smartphone are transmitted to the gimbal (Pan/Tilt), presumably similar to the  Motion Sensor Remote for the Crane 2.
