The 1:1 Crop RAW function of Magic Lantern can define a rectangle of the full-frame Sensorflaeche and only of this Area, the raw pixel data are unscaled and read virtually moirfrei. This ensures razor-sharp for RAW images, however you have to juggle this with Seitenverhaeltnissen, data rates and crop factors, not to ask about the interface and your memory card. Otherwise it hails dropped frames. Forthcoming in the second part of our Magic Lantern RAW FAQs will shed some light in here bring the case. Thus, a 5D Mk3 at a 1920 x 1080 pixels Raw-recording only a crop factor of 3 and thus mutates into a Black Magic Pocket Cam.
