Hi All,
Yesterday I've tried one. vob file to edit in Premiere. After the rewriting of. Vob to. Mpg file which could be easily imported into AP. The cut went very difficult OPERATIONS WERE CARRIED, so I only sequences that I need really wanted to convert to AviDV, in order to subsequently perform better in Premiere can. However, the export AviDV a pure disaster. The video jumps only once every 2-3 seconds a piece next, the picture is grainy and the chopping sound and has misfire ... especially since the sound of synonymous nor was one scene that clearly ahead in the next video is so totally moved, although I have not separated audio and video.
With another editing program (Main Actor) it was the same result.
What am I doing wrong? Otherwise, the export AviDV always works fine for me ...
Is it at all. Vob files to convert and cut AviDV? Is there a good tool or something similar?

I have been synonymous renamed VOBs to MPG with Premiere 6.5 and exporting as a DV-AVI (or in my case as a Matrox AVI). The so far worked smoothly, but took time.
If the phenomenon described only then, if you shorten the movie before exporting? Perhaps Premiere has a problem with trimming the highly compressed and nested picture-and sound data? What happens if you put the MPG file complete reconversion without trimming them first?
Using tools such as VOB2MPG or VOB2AVI I had not been so lucky. Good that my computer has an image editing PC software ...

vob file to convert the whole can not be done, but enough space on the hard drive front and rear no more. It would be about 1 hour 45 min footage (5 vob files) that I would have to convert. So I wanted to convert only selected scenes, you know? But what you said with the problem, the AP could have the trim that I can well imagine ...
The file as a. Mpg to leave and then cut to not work hardly synonymous, which is the purest Geruckel in AP and much too vague ...
Else do you have ne idea?
Like I said, a different program, with which I have tried to convert the synonymous, creates the same problem. Where, for once not only s.Adobe ;-)

it is difficult, if not enough disk space is available. As I currently see no alternative, unfortunately ... : - /
PS: A hard drive with 200 GB (equivalent to approximately 15 hours of DV material) currently costs about $ 100.

I'll grow again synonymous ne external hard drive ... ma, or only the rent of my buddy ;-)
Overall, I'm only 100 GB (2 hard disks 20 GB + 80 GB), and these are unfortunately only 8 GB left, all I can not do without, unfortunately ...
