Frage von OsunSeyi:Hello community,
I have a question about so-called shrink software like CloneDVD.
These programs offer - apart from the illegal operation, the copy of the original to remove shooting, which we will not use / want to deal! - The function, DVD9 to DVD5 to shrink.
Now the question is how this works. The quality of such shrinkage is in my experience - if ever - hardly any worse than the original. If I use the same MPEG encoding with lower bit rate making, the quality is significantly worse. Theoretically, the software must be yes to decode MPEG2 files, and with new lower bitrate encode. Since the loss would be even higher! What is there of take, I think the software has no separate internal encoder, right?
I am grateful for every answer!

Alex

What is there of take, I think the software has no separate internal encoder, right? It is only more compressed. The film is simply copied with a lower bitrate. Older versions came with the original VBR is not clear. There were very quick loss of quality. Also for the new program applies only CBR is (almost) imperceptibly smaller. For more demanding is a DL-DVD better.

Hi,
thank once. If I have understood you correctly, but will be re-encoded (and de-encoding), right? Then, the direct encoding with lower bit rate of DV original but the better way, unless DVD9-DL is possible?

Older versions came with the original VBR is not clear. Sure? VBR is for DVD video for the beginning of s.genutzt and was the main reason why man with the rather mere average bitrate of 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Mbps still a reasonable Picture how.
