my intuition tells me that this topic may have been a thousand times, but unfortunately I could with the search found nothing, which is the topic dealt with beginner-friendly.
I am planning my first time on film, in which the sound plays an important role. Previously I've almost only music films rotated. I will soon get two quite inconspicuous old and wanted to ask whether it is possible that with cameras like the Canon XM2 to connect. Is that with all the microphones, so synonymous something older? If so, you need adapters, etc.? Or would it be meaningful, something on the USB adapter and notebook list?
Since I am in the area are not yet sound familiar so good, I would be grateful for as simple and understandable answers.

In principle, it is possible, two mono microphones s.den stereo microphone input of the XM2 adapter so that a Mikofon on the left stereo channel and the other on the right stereo channel is recorded.
