Hi,
I wanted to get a piece of the original EOS 5D Mark II because of the video function. Today i went to the 7D, precisely because the frame rates is synonymous very impressive.
The first sample videos have entäuscht me but a little.

I have a feeling that, in particular the exposure level is much lower than in the Mark II, the sky looks very white compared with the Mark II samples. The colors seem a bit dull synonymous. Now it can be, in my view difficult to see whether the s.den settings, and post-compression, or whether there really are gaps.
The chip sizes are not that important to me personally, since the difference is really minimal, and the APS-C format allows synonymous already very high selective sharpening. Among the low-light characteristics synonymous, I have found yet.
Has anyone of you have found a direct Comparison under similar conditions? Otherwise, I'd appreciate any additional information and links to samples much better.

If you you buy the camera because of the video function, I would be more on APS-C camcorder of Canon are waiting to come out next year - with the look of an XL H1, and a suitable zoom lens, etc. I, unfortunately, no link was this - here but already reported on.
If you can wait then it is surely better to wait for a real camcorder with a large sensor to be used as a Take a photo for video.

The hope for a firmware upgrade? Comparison to 7D can be called the 5D now just as castrated.
Wait erstmal down until there is really comparable material from reliable sources and production models.
The video handling is much better integrated than in the 5DMKII, where it might almost be described as an accident. And the variable frame rates were more than necessary.
The 720p/60 make films at 25fps even passable ne Slomo.
So for me the case is now clear ;-)

Only waiting time to acquire them is ... then wait 2 months and "good screen test" kucken .... really like the 5D ...
For the film, a successor of the XH or XL series would perhaps rather what, what I would wait.
As a combined unit offers the 7D well then .... the optimum s.price / performance / quality
But until now, must be maintained even erstmal.

The Camera Flash Card plus SSD should have 1080 and 720 mode, different frame rates .... XLR ... TC In / Out ... Perhaps the option to use the USM Lenses and ILS addition to the "two" optimized lenses .... yes it would, the XL series go well again ;-)
If only the question (what codec to use Canon; may be)?
Think that the main sticking point so synonymous s.der history "successor XH and XL" ......

That sounds really good s.with the APS-C camcorder. If what is good, which is exactly the camera that I've been waiting for. 'm Already synonymous of Canon's XH-A1 very enthusiastic.
Ye are right, that somehow comical by the handling and is synonymous with funny looks ner DSLR rotate. I would never want them synonymous as a hand or shoulder-mounted camera: used).
Currently, the move away but apparently the only way of HDV look under 2000 ¬. I need them privately to low-budget short films and borrow through with always the same ne RED halt is quite synonymous to money. Otherwise, I have ne EX1 available, but I find the picture quality, especially in low-key can not manage that. I think that can be combined along.
Sure would be awkward for me ne 7D temporary solution, but currently I find nothing better for the money. Until next year I can not wait.

Do not believe everything you see it on Vimeo. All published for Z. on Vimeo videos that are supposed to be of the 7D, are probably not of the new action.

That should be known. . . It's all clear to me that it can be. However, Canon has been synonymous own page on the video samples. True, these are highly color-corrected but not from the bad .. see

So far, this league of the Canon camcorder was synonymous always significantly more expensive than the 7D.
What I do not want to say that a new Canon camcorder would have no chance against the movie of their own home more DSLRs. Da gibts is a bit more than just ne movie record button. I'm afraid the thing is Canon's typically at least 3-4x the cost of the 7D.
