Frage von Matze (Neu):Hello,
now I have read some posts, but would still an open question:
I use Panasonic AY-DVM 60 FE for my Panasonic camcorder (NV-GS 500 EC) and currently only SP (ie, 60 min).
I will be at greater intervals, once synonymous more than 60 minutes to film them. My question: Can I switch to LP? The description says that the image quality does not suffer when you switch over to LP and I use the tapes only once (after archiving).
Has anyone experience with LP can collect? Or would it be better, the higher price for an 80-minute tape to be paid?
Thanks for the help and many greetings
M.
Antwort von Udo Schröer:
Loss of quality as VHS and so there is not. The tape is in LP mode will be slower and thus denser described.
if there are problems then there are blocks. There are, however, synonymous tapes of the home have more tape on it, Pannasonic offers at such a tape.
Antwort von Quadruplex:
Or would it be better, the higher price for an 80-minute tape to be paid? Yes. LP has no immediately visible impact on image quality, but it moves s.der lower limit of reliability. It should give you to think that on almost every question about DV-Picture-and sound against the first question is: LP mode?
If you like something that is your trouble-free recording on another device play / have to be able to play: SP!

Thank you for the answers! Yes, it helps me next. Then I will be synonymous in the future to refrain LP.
With us in the supermarket will not be 80 min-led tapes. Does the Internet have a hint where to good + cheap Panasonic 80 min-tapes could buy?
Thank you very much!

Although no Internet, but at Saturn, there's (hopefully still) have long been quite practical packs, consisting of four 60-minute and one 80-minute cassette.

Hi Markus,
Thanks for the quick reply.

Would that be recommended?

[...] But do you mean maybe a pack: [...] Yes, I said exactly.
Whether this is advisable for you, I do not know, but for my user behavior, it is ideal: Normally, I use the "small" 60 cassettes. Then I have occasional situations where I need more capacity in the last period as a author reading and a wedding. Since I can not even synonymous in between the cartridge change quickly, so I quite happy to'm 80 minutes. And on top of what you've written yourself, sounds quite similar.

Markus
Antwort von Matze (Neu):
Booyah! Then I will pack as a sample order.
Many greetings

Addendum:
I have just randomly read the following sentences:
"Band lengths over 60 minutes, I use it because of the necessarily thinner tapes at all. As a rule we do not filming 80 minutes s.Stück. I therefore think it is better, in between the tape to change." (Source Slashcam Forum)
This confuses me somewhat. If this opinion "overtaken" by the newer technology, or maybe you should change?
Sorry that I once again demand exactly, but I have my pictures and important risks if it is, then I am interested in the know.
Many greetings
M.

I had synonymous in mind that the 80-cassette problemanfälliger be smaller than that. Precisely for this reason I use it only if it is really necessary (ie if a tape change is not possible).
In the few cases where I've made so far, but I had no problems with it.
Still others experience reports of other people?

Antwort von Markus:
Hi,
I already have more MiniDV tapes of Panasonic with 80 minutes in duration and was able to use had no differences with regard to reliability, durability and susceptibility to defects identified. You simply run longer.
The relatively large difference in price is due to the 60s MiniDV usauf the higher value carrier (reduced thickness, similar mechanical strength).
