Frage von Pelle:Moin Moin,
to first introduce myself, I'm Peter, 26 and hail from the beautiful stone (near Kiel).
I have of my favorite grad a small Sony Mini DV camcorder to get birthday, which I mainly used for holiday and vintage cars will use meetings.
Since my hobby of restoring classic cars is, of course, I would like to synonymous capture on film.
It was me but of a friend (of all has an opinion) said that the bright light during welding the photocells a DV camera would be damaged.
In my manual there is nothing on this subject, because I can possibly help someone here?

The UV radiation of an inert gas-arc welding is capable of long-term retinal damage, but nothing I am aware that this is with CCDs or CMOS sensors behave the same.
I have numerous construction with steel works documented and sometimes daily to 3min pure welding arcs with strong gefiltm. Until now, I s.den chips no damage noted.
I think it is related that a welding arc is not enough light intensity, a Einbrennschaden s.einem to cause CCD, but enough UV radiation includes, for organic tissue damage.
So how about -25 degrees on a glacier gets a sunburn. The snow melts, but the skin burns.
And so it behaves itself synonymous with the CCDs.
The welding arc sets in relation to visible light is much s.UV radiation, so the eye iris not so close that the retina from UV radiation protection.
I would rather worry about it if I am not at the shooting or a sunburn verblitze hole. Finally, you do not get with a film screen.
I myself a welding certificate and I have always taken my welding helmet. Then I had both hands free to shoot and it was not so tense evening in the face, if you know what I mean ....
Oh yes: synonymous came here before. Of course you get the Watch in the Viewfinder no eye damage, because the LCD or viewfinder of the tube so the UV light does not transmit 1:1.

But still pack a UV-protective filter in front of the lens. If a spark or a sweat bead on the front lens lost, you can find the camera away. (Emergency telephoto range and 10 meters far away)
S.besten manual exposure settings. Especially when welding with highly fluctuating "Lighting" is the Picture otherwise pumping like crazy.

OK, thanks for the replies.
I will be the Camera just a few meters away on the Tripod run when I sweat doing recordings.
That by the Camera display no UV radiation can be transferred, while it is clear, but pity.
Would be cool if you look at the holiday videos holiday synonymous tan would get back;)
