I have the following situation: For the loss of quality when shooting on Hi8 tapes to bypass, I will my Analog Camera (Canon Ex1) via AD converter s.meinen laptop connect.
Problem: My laptop has only a 4-pin Firewire port. The AD-converter and I wanted to growth (Canopus ADVC-55) requires a 6-pin Firewire port, because of the power supply, and the AC adapter for the converter falls out, because I wahrscheilich synonymous outside shooting and will have no power .
Now I've synonymous but an express card slot in the laptop, and I could be a firewire card with 6-pin connector to buy. Now it struck me that this may be synonymous an AC adapter needed.
So my question:
* Weiss someone whether the AD converter synonymous its electricity on such a Firewire Express Card can relate?
* Is there maybe other converters, which are connected via USB2, and synonymous with no additional power supply run?
Or maybe someone has ne other idea?

Hello,
mine is synonymous otherwise known as a notebook that the unpleasant property that any "upgraded" Firewire power supply to a power supply tasks. Perhaps logs still someone who knows more about this?
