maybe someone can help me here if I in our institution's requirements for a clip (; HDV filmed with a canon xh-a1, gecapturt in premiere) in s.importieren wish I get the following error message:
After Effects error: the file xxx.mpeg can not be opened. it may be an unsupported format.
(, 86 § 1)
However, with HDV can s.doch bypass - since version 7 when I am not mistaken.
missing me a codec? I have no idea, unfortunately, had the problem ever, but thought after the upgrade to CS4 would be gone, but unfortunately not ists.

As far as I know, AE is compressed mpeg files will not open. Whether there is a codec or something else on there, I do not know. Personally, I really only work with AVI uncompressed.
If there is a solution should exist, *. mpeg, *. m2t or even directly into AE to open, I would be interested in this too. This I would save a lot of work, until everything in AVI unkomprimirt convert.

It is easily possible, and in CS4 m2ts and other HD (, T) V files to open as long as there is no trial version of AE involved.

I have again discussed the issue with the *. m2t *. mpeg and not in AE can be opened. Just as it seems it is a codec problem.
The simplest solution is the *. m2t and / or *. mpeg *. simply unzubenennen avi and then import into AE. For me works flawlessly.
