Frage von Mollari:Had with my DV camera (Samsung SC-D6050 (i)) with the Samsung DVC media 5.1 software the recorded film of tape transferred to PC. The output format is ASF. The Windows Media Player plays the movie (despite the Nimo codec pack installed, not). How can now the turn into the MPEG 2 format to create SVCD from zb to be able to?
Antwort von Peter S.:
You should connect the camcorder via firewire and start with any video capture tool (WinDV, Scenalizer ,...) on the hard drive. This rich and Dv-Avi is several classes better than the (presumably via USB-rehearsed), ASF. The very strong, not Einzelbildbasierte Compression is poorly suited for further processing.

Thanks for the reply.
Like you said all right, I have the ASF was added via USB. Unfortunately I am a complete novice. I do not know how a working recording via firewire? What is it and how does it work?
Other Programs like Dr. Divx or the included Ulead VideoStudio 7.0 SE recognize the camera even though the video driver is not installed (for DVC Media 5.1 klappts yes)
