I have on my PC quite performant Adobe Photoshop CS4 installed and had massive performance problems such as making modifications made (level via copy [ctrl] + J, Choice create via [ctrl] + A, etc.) only in the document are displayed, active after I've clicked it. So I can with PS did not work!
My PC:
- Intel Core2Duo 6700 (2.66 GHz)
- 4 GB RAM (3.12 GB of usable Windows)
- NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT 256 MB graphics RAM
- Windows XP Home SP3
--SATA2 hard disks (1 x C: 160 GB + programs with the system, 2 x D: & E: for each 400 GB data)
- 2 SXGA monitors s.DVI connections
With this PC should be unnecessary but PS CS4 and useful work! The latest NVIDIA graphics driver of synonymous to me, I have loaded.
The GPU support in the PS-options I have on and off times, whereas no difference or even an improvement would result. :-(
Has anyone an idea where the hook is?

Which operating system and what components you're so into your PC? Can there be a problem that I have not Windows Vista, but XP Home SP3 and using the graphics card "only" Direct X 9 offers? Can there be a problem that I have the CS3 Master Collection of previously synonymous still installed?

I would. In my view, all the negative points.
CS4 äuft synonymous with older cards, even installing SP3 is a prerequisite. What influence could have DirectX10, I do not know.
I currently run on all OS (Vista and XP) and with maps of lean to
very thick without murren.Allerdings on fresh installed OS, without any frills.
