As you placed advertising for your DVD's, videos or what ever synonymous?
As you reach the planned target for the existing product?
I came straight to the target group-oriented advertising on Facebook and find this opportunity to advertise quite interesting.
Can someone tell of their experiences?

You realize that the linked article of 2008 (!) Come from? Since then a lot has happened. FB marketing is no panacea - if your audience and fits your offer, then you
can test it with a small budget. But do not expect miracles.
In principle, we have (but outside of the video segment) projects in the experience that has not targeted advertising on Facebook brought excessive response ... but this can for your offer and your target audience already be different. We have had more success in a project by search engine marketing - says: AdWords that appear in Google for certain keyword combinations alongside search results. Because someone is looking for the words, he has a need synonymous (assuming you find the right keywords that match your offer). In Facebook you can still the target audience for your advertising limit, but for that you do not know whether the currently s.deinem offer are actively interested.
