Well, let's begin with the obvious:
s.Du have started when capturing an NTSC project. This "pulls" are you the picture and you get a miserable quality. A capital-Bock, whom many Beginners shoot.
b) You judge the gecapturte Picture on the little monitor window of the NLE. That is totally inappropriate for an image evaluation, as it rounded on the original image at random depending on the selected size.
So check whether your voting project settings (DV NTSC 48 kHz).

let me guess: You have taken an ordinary DV camcorder and did not know, dass ..
1. Color at the 4:2:0 digital video is compressed and thus amounts to only 25% of the image resolution.
2. Artifacts like these can only be seen s.Computermonitor, but not on the camcorder display (s.Television concerned only appear blurred edges). Learn More:
