Hello All,
I have an idea to which I would like to hear your opinion:
I intend to convert, copy the old Chaplin film "Modern Times" of DVD back on Super-8, so my Elmo GS 800 gets to show Projekktor finally a bit.
Basic technical proceeding:
1. The DVD will be dubbed with the best possible quality to the hard drive of my Mac.
2. The film will be issued subsequently via Quicktime Player as a slideshow on the LCD monitor.
3. My Canon 1014-XLS is placed correctly before the monitor and take individually for Picture Picture to Super-8 footage.
Why wear an old black and white film?
No problems with color casts, etc. Cheap film raw material. relatively short duration of the film. Few problems with Tonsynchronität since "Modern Times" as far as possible only contains music.
Why copy per frame?
To get a sauebres result. The camera has single image triggering (electric), the slide show is connected via a mouse click Next Picture, so as the transfer of so a simple thing.
Sense of the matter:
Actually no, only kidding s.der thing. All the world digitized movies on DVD, I will however do the opposite, because a classic film screening for me is still something special. The mentioned film of Chaplin is an absolute classic, for it is worth (at least for me), a little money to spend on film, to later have a complete version on Super-8.
Your feedback on my (already being worked) idea would interest me.

Ne I think is ok, the idea got the Canon is synonymous here are a cool camera.

Hi,
I still have a few such "candy" of old are in my cabinet. Listen mostly to the name Bolex, Beaulieu, Pathe, Nizo, Leicina etc.
I love Super-8 easily. Was just great, the movies still cut of hand, add sound and then with friends (Film Club), the finished "art" to be considered.
Of course I use professionally synonymous today's technology, no preference whether video or photos and computer, but when it comes to the hobby is to me a classic film such as Ektachrome "somewhat" sympathetic.
