Hello,
We are currently in the midst of post production of our short film Moon Man, based on the same picture of Tomi Ungerer. For that we are still looking for experienced Shaker, who support us. Since it is a graduation film, we can not pay salaries. The film is an interesting reference (Copro with Arri and the Bavarian Radio, broadcasting s.July 2007 in BR and Kika).
The postpro be held at the Munich Film School, and will be completed by late July.
You are interested please urgently.
Liebe Gruesse,
Sven

Please correct "Composting" in "Compositing"! That's embarrassing!
Antwort von rudi:
Yes, indeed is already embarrassing;)
I'm just back from holiday, and is now improving.
Somehow seems the AutoCorrect of Open Office here reinzunudeln was ...

Hello Rudi,
"A Linux port is still available, but this version will cost significantly more." - "Appreciable" is a nice euphemism for a factor of 10 ( ¬ 499 <-> ¬ 4.999!) ... I would describe it as very painful. Does anyone know any objectively demonstrable logical reason for this is totally unacceptable difference? Will Apple use it as a "brake" against Linux, in order to sell primarily Shake s.Kunden who have bought Apple hardware and Mac OS X? Honi soit qui mal y pense ... (A rogue who pense.).

Volkmar You're right. For 4550, however, you get one synonymous saugeile and quick Mac!

Will Apple use it as a "brake" against Linux, in order to sell primarily Shake s.Kunden who have bought Apple hardware and Mac OS X? The reason is quite simply, is that Apple sells hardware rather than software. It is an open secret that Apple has tried over Shake to switch to persuade many U.S. studios to do so of their Linux boxes on OS-X. And since the deal at that point was: Eintweder Shake for 5000 U.S. $ (Linux) with no hardware or for the same money-including a new Mac hardware.
If you shake now in use, and bought new workstations, you probably bought the Macs ...
However, it is now synonymous buy the source code for 50,000 dollars (Linux and Mac). And we may then be applied to up to 1000 (internal) computers. From this perspective you can already get Shake for Linux synonymous for 10 Doller:)

Hoops, I probably made a mistake. Jobs remains a computational God
Namely, for $ 50,000 to get even 5,000 "seats":
Shake 4.1 Source Code for $ 50,000. The Source code license includes a 5.000 seat volume license of Shake 4.1. This offer is designed to help
Shake facilities with significant investments maintain a reliable and controllable visual effects pipeline. Maintenance customers that wish to license the Shake 4.1 Source Code must do so by July 23, 2006. However, this action is already almost over (23 July) ...
So chop chop, who has just $ 50,000 too much?
Splitting and on Ebay as a single Linux licenses flog;)

Hello,
You're right. For 4550, however, you get one synonymous saugeile and quick Mac! naja ... I see a little differently.
1: There is a non-Intel "workstations" of Apple, and I think it is unwise for the moment to buy another G5. It seems likely that Apple wants about the G5 evacuate camp.
2nd: When it comes to pure processing power for money, I am with an x64 Opteron better served system. That is certainly synonymous with rational components to the Apple quality. ¬ 4,550 ... because you can really have a very good quad-core system to Tyan AMD NVidia build basis. Disadvantage (if one sees it as a): no Mac OS X. Advantage: I can use Shake on Linux, which I allow greater control and monitoring.

Hi rudi,
If you shake now in use, and bought new workstations, you probably bought the Macs ... as in Vorposting already said: for the optimal choice, I do not think - if, it served only to financial constraints ^ H ^ H ^ H ^ H ^ H ^ H ^ HGründen;)
Even if they can, and as a "management tool" used to increase the hardware sales: ich finds badly wrong. For one and the same product 2 Prices with a factor of 10 as the difference ... truly impossible. This shake is finally a prime example of the qualifications for the professional use of Linux ... And they could significantly increase their market share compared with AE. If you could choose the hardware, the OS and compositing software to freely choose, would certainly use a lot of smaller productions Shake based on Linux because of cost advantage - but that we do is sell any hardware, you're right.

Volkmar
