Newsmeldung von slashCAM: Avid codecs for all of rudi - 4 Mar 2008 08:06:00 We know not synonymous, because what if we have overlooked, or when looking into this step of Avid escaped: How it looks like you can of the Avid Page officially codecs (Mac and PC) to download and synonymous use in other applications, the Quicktime can read and write. For licensing reasons, namely the MPEG-2 IMX not there, there is the original DNxHD codec with Alpha support, possible to switch between applications without loss of HD clips caching. Even a DV100 codec with 4:2:2-with is color of the lot. Applause for this clever step of Avid.

Is synonymous no wonder - the current Final Cut Pro hype. Everywhere we speak only of Final Cut.
But still min. 80% of all television programs and 90% of all movies with an Avid system be cut, now wants to know more None. Really a shame.
In a comparison test, which is synonymous here to find Slashcam, it is incidentally shown that the quality DNxHD codec is better than Apple's ProRes codec.
Incidentally, the Avid DNxHD codec of the first certified codec for the new format of the SMPTE VC3.
PS: All this OSCAR-winning films have been with min. an Avid editing product (Digidesign and Softimage included) :-)

Is there a download (HD Talk Ludwigsburg)

where the differences in quality of different codecs are shown.
since the Apple ProRes is not yet there (tests are a bit older) but very interesting, because the AVID DNxHD highly evaluated.

DNxHD is not better than Pro Res 422nd They are both about equally good.
This means synonymous supposed to test.

100% approval.
It's been really frightening, as some reports are unidimensional (all read Final Cut Final Cut here and there - as if nothing else existed.
Admittedly, I welcome the competition and hope that Avid finally responded and something in its own product portfolio and restructured primarily marketing improved (if it's marketing to go with Apple is far and away the most ingenious company - which can seem so each dung sell all that great find him), but hey: Final Cut is playing at major productions a comparatively minor role. In indie news, or the safe area may be different.
The big announcement of the new strategy in February Avid is unfortunately postponed, but if one reads between the lines, seems to finally move into the Avid system came to be (a few weeks or not, should not the role) .
Antwort von Rideck:
Where have you because your numbers? 80% of contributions and 90% of the films on an Avid? What a ridiculous Beef! Each system has its advantages.
Also agrees with the comment about the Oscar awards this year not. The Conan_Brüder cut for many years to have Final Cut and Color also for "No Country for Old Men" is used.

Only ProRes422 Apple is just Apple ...
100% proprietary and is only available if FCP6.x installed. So it cost approx. EUR 1200.
Any embedding in PC systems? Nothing doing.
DNxHD is however embedded in the 2019 SMPTE VC3 and now of nearly 40 companies licensed .... So with an open standard reference implementation.
Perhaps it will take no longer so long until companies like AJA or Blackmagic DNxHD embed in their hardware ... cool option.
In addition, it offers a sufficient choice of "low res" option .... ProRes422: Nothing doing
What reason would it still give ProRes422 to use?
Even if one Final Cut Pro uses DNxHD would have been with at least one well-functioning exchange format (synonymous in the PC world).
With the ProRes422 only with what the "neighbors" if it's synonymous' n Apple has.
Antwort von PowerMac:
Beautiful. I see similar. Maybe Quicktime 8th And? In my area does it very well yet. Incidentally Pro Res thus provides a degree of variability, that he was in the HQ and SQ-version is available - with high quality and not quite as high quality. My wishes are clearly satisfied. Why should I want to have different bitrates? If I want to SD, then I want the uncompressed quality. From Digibeta, edit in Pro Res, back on Digibeta. Why should I want something else? For scheiss quality synonymous DV, I can use. When HD is the same, I want almost the quality of HDCAM. Not less. Why a different data rate? Offline work is definitely out. I myself busy synonymous for use as an exchange of DNxHD format with Avid and Windows. Because it makes sense. But in any editing system is its own codec better. But the allegedly inferior quality of ProRes to DnXHD nobody has proved ...
Na go: get out of your holes!
Antwort von Tom Keller Schweiz:
And also supports Apple Pro Res no alpha channel.
That with Aja and Blackmagic already would be cool. Bluefish 444 has been licensed DNxHD. I think that interesting of which water (unfortunately expensive -> bluefish halt) to NAB in April comes.
For information:
You're right, "No Country for Old Men" was with Final Cut Pro, cut and each system has its advantages. In each Postpro OSCAR winner came min. AVID product for an application. The example of Digidesign's ProTools, Sibelius or Softimage 3D (Programs of all firms that belong to AVID). Would you read my shout, I would have that now do not write here.
For consolation: Probably was synonymous in each of these films an Apple product to use, since almost all AVID editing programs and Protools synonymous apple on the run :-)
But nevertheless, it is time that AVID moves and finally doing something. The guys in Tewksbury have for too long on the high horse sat. After the "open letter" s.AVID seems to be really what to do.
Nice day ;-)

This test is garbage. The author himself says of the times Read the comments below. Do you know the author, anyway? Do you know what else he writes? The gamma value has changed during export. So everything Quark. Recent tests (that test is ancient and unfunded) suggested no difference. And was not unfounded as patronizing.

As some here know, I turn right in the DNxHD codec. Since I am of course, that this codec from IRT classified as excellent and of the SMPTE for worldwide HD program exchange is recommended as a standard. In recent weeks, I had several of my customers asking receive HD material s.andere users to provide. Since then I have a few minutes each cut and collected for the sake of simplicity as Quicktime packed. Since these exports went extremely fast, I assume that while the Avid DNxHD codec with its properties into a native Quicktime is wrapping. Thus on a data DVD about four minutes to send.
Previously, all the people in the immediate import and thanked for their excellent quality. I do not know what cutting systems with the most and have worked alongside Avid synonymous whether a Final Cut Pro was. But that would be assumed. Overall, in any event, totally straightforward.

So I have to PM here really .... Go to Page As you can see my post I could find so synonymous prima DNxHD and am not a friend of ProRes422 but what stood in the article was really just Banenkocherei .... with flawed attempts have led to an inappropriate result. PM has apparently seen similar. And that the SMPTE has issued a Recommendation is still far from being a guarantee of success ... see VC-1 of Microsoft. Glatter flop. And the DNxHD via QT to a good result may be, would probably synonymous ProRes ...
Nevertheless I am of the success of DNxHD quite extraordinary, especially for AVID synonymous, synonymous when it is actually not much more than JPEG2000 is ... ProRes422 but that's just synonymous ... codecs and both fail for very fast movements and are just spitzenmäßig if not much in the picture does. From the variety, we will be next time, probably still get a few more .... because open source, royalty-free .... We should eagerly look forward to it.
