Frage von Tobias M.:Hi folks,
a well-known problem, for which normally no new thread would be opened, because the question is continually asked ...
If I have Avid Xpress'm in still mode, I see the picture, but when I run the video, is black screen, but the sound is running.
The whole thing is probably s.einem video card driver problem. Avid supports only certain NVIDIA drivers (I have an NVIDIA graphics card). I know synonymous, which is supported drivers. But this is only for Windows XP, but not for Windows Vista 64-bit.
Hence my question: Do one of your graphics card drivers for NVIDIA products under Windows Vista 64-bit and run Avid support?
Thanks in advance.

for me, everything is wonderful, I use the Omega Drivers for my Geforce FX 5200 (not very good I know). While there are still no specific synonymous Vista version but it runs flawlessly.
At the black screen: It may be that your computer has the necessary computing power can no longer afford. Vista swallowed quite so much power, particularly the graphical user interface. Control Windows s.besten the old design. It clearly runs smoother.

Vista is currently of Avid not even supports - if this really works, it would seem to be more a matter of luck (according to the U.S. forum is not recommended).

I once these Omega drivers tried. It works but not. It can not be that Avid does not support Windows Vista.

It can not be that Avid does not support Windows Vista. That was good! Muhaha!
Sorry - You seem either quite young or inexperienced to be. In pretty much every new OS version, there's problems with old software. Even if I order today, twice the same type: Mir is still a mystery how to Würgsda voluntarily give ...

Just as it looks at Avid and it is particularly bad: before synonymous since only the smallest update to OS level recordings (especially Quicktime is pretty critical), one should look exactly the targets, otherwise it may be bad surprises.
And Vista - there was no statement yet on when the support. When I look at this OS is now last week with a friend for the first time had to watch live, I can understand why they do not have to hurry so, that is with far the worst OS that I have ever had to use (sort of slow to Current Hardware and permanently any silly demands, so that's not at all).
My advice: take XP or higher on Mac OS to - it is completely incomprehensible to me what Microsoft so long s.diesem garbage will have worked. The fact that XP supports is longer than Vista has quite understandable reasons - just a pity that on new PCs no longer has a choice whether Vista or XP - as is unfortunately often the only Vista option.

Had the same problem with my XP recordings (Canopus / Ulead).
Did you all films with the Microsoft codec converts. Since they all run.
