I have a few Canon models considered (MV960, MV460, MV850i taken) and found that the models that I take into consideration any "back-light compensation have.
Überhaubt Is that important? or you can do without it?

"Backlight Compensation" or synonymous "Backlight" is used to light the dark areas do not appear to be quite so dark. In most cases this will increase the total picture in the brightness or gamma factor:

Need I sowas rarely do (depending on the person filming to motives and situations on). For this I would use
maybe Backlight
- Sun in Hintgergrund of persons, houses, ...
- Lightening the sky in front of buildings, birds, ...
