Back to my question
I have a movie file in avi format, the file is just under 800 MB. How can I convert the file now so that I can burn with Nero as the SVCD so that I can look at me in my DVD player?
Do I have as yet Programs download or something similar?
It would be nice if you could give me a detailed description, because I said like no idea ...

advance if it is possible for you and you have made available a DVD Burner, burning the whole thing on DVD is much better Quality (of course, is synonymous to the starting material to)
When you burn SVCD simply adding the AVI file in Nero to call and ready, make the rest of Nero alone

s DVD player I unfortunately do not have it!
The problem I have now, but this is the avi file is too big if I want to burn it as SVCD is there any possibilities hinzubekommen this?

There is the Windows Media Encoder
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/encoder/default.aspx
There you can play through your AVI file to convert to a WMV and then the same thing again with Nero

Hello Moe,
The format of the SVCD will not support any DVD player. When are you for maximum compatibility (and necessarily depends on a blank CD to be burned), create a VCD (Video -> MPEG1).

hey, sorry that I pick up the old topic again, but I got the same problem synonymous to meien avi is too big and I want to break up the somewhat 2cds. The car goes with nero?
