For me, the compatibility to "normal" DVD a purchase criterion for HD DVD - but ask me yes (unfortunately) None. I think Blue Ray will win, only because of the underlying production companies and studios.

Besides the far better movies, it has just more physical space.
The argument with the relationship or "compatibility" for the DVD system is absurd and a pure marketing nonsense. Or does such an HD-DVD in a standard DVD player? No. Of course not.
Furthermore, Toshiba partner lost.
Have both systems at home. The picture is basically equal. Depending on mastering both systems reach the same average picture level. But clearly more BlueRay movies.
In the media market around the corner was just a real "Wühltisch" with BDs and HD DVDs. There were at least three times as many people s.den BDs s.Gucken than the "red" competition ".
