I work with MAGIX Video deluxe 2008th
Despite the prior activation of the burner option "disc for On-disc editing prepare" it is not possible on a DVD-RW, on the film itself is another film to burn. When you start firing comes the question "Would you all the data on the eingelegen erase RW media?". Of course, I press the NO button, whereupon the disk is ejected with the invitation insert a blank.

I like me wrong, but my knowledge is only when a DVD-RW VRO files are, so the disc in VR mode was created. So as you schild's only, I suspect that the existing films (VHS-DVD-compliant) as VOBs on the disc - or?
