Hello, maybe someone can give me help with my question.
I would like to use the Camera Panasonic NV-DS 33 The attached 1394 cable with a normal Firwirekabel replace. My laptop has only a Firewire cable and not the opposite of the s.Ende of the IEE 1394 cable is off. Can this be done without a second thought?
The cable is attached to a card thought that I no longer have.
In the instructions for use of the camera is on the DV-i-link described nothing, unfortunately.

Firewire, IEEE1394 and iLink are three names for the same standard, but I'm somewhat surprised that Panasonic DS33 when such a cable have to be settled? No matter: Get in the next electronics market for under ten euros so a cable in the desired length, present it at the right times (usually 4-pin for the camcorder side and 6-pin for the PC and also Page 4-pin for some laptops) and then it works.

You probably want a Firewire cable, which s.einem end of a six-and a four terminal s.anderen has, by one to replace the ends of a four s.beiden A. has.
ME is easily possible, because the two additional lines are used for power supply, but what your camcorder is not necessary.

There are Fierewire cable (IEEE 1394, iLink, DV are just different names) in various designs, which are used in the connectors are different. There are Fierewire four times and six times. Cameras usually have the small four-Connections, the big six PCs and Notebooks times, times, but more often the small mE.
If you are currently a cable with a small four (on the camera side) and a large s.PC had six, and has your new notebook instead of a large port only the small, then you need a new cable. One with the little four on both sides. Buy allerbilligste not.
