There is no ideal model in general, with each you can make good recordings, it comes specifically to the cameraman behind s.and that governs the rest of themselves in the market on price and sales. If a particular model is not worth much, it loses s.Umsatz and disappear fairly quickly from the market.

So I cut the time being, standard definition, neither HDV, not HD (like both cameras you closer to the election have withdrawn).
I think here in the forum you will find very few users who claim HD material could be without high-end PC or Mac editing somewhat redundant. HDV is still yes, but HD?
If the post is important for you (as you write) and you do not have such a Hig-end PC or MAC that I would like to have the matter well and superior to HDV guess.
My humble opinion.

In AVCHD distinction is in the image uA, synonymous under Profiles and levels, then the different requirements, but of course synonymous with different data rates can pose.
Panasonic and Canon use in their cameras, the Sony still HighProfile@4.1 during the MainProfile@4.1 used. This comes in with 17 Mbit / s from, but synonymous with a lack of tools to lower image quality.
