Hi!
I now have the Canon HV20 from Japan (NTSC) will receive, 20 hours of recording time with the movie mode + 24p cinema mode.
Use Premiere, where various choices at the beginning offered.
1) Should I Movie HD NTSC (because japan) select or 1080p (ntsc? Pal ?)...
2) Is it a good idea with the usb cable to PC video transfer?
What is with HD-DV cable, it would be better, or only to do with it?
3) Drivers do not seem to exist for my HV20, usb is not recognized.

No, it's Firewire. And HDVSplit.

OK, I had totally forgotten firewire, long nix more with its cam done:) Of course, no longer a problem now.

The following: I have one from Japan synonymous because 24p. However, synonymous until I learn that the camera data as per 60i pulldown records! Thus you will always receive premiere 29.976 p and not 24p. Currently there is only one possibility with Premiere 24p (23.97) to obtain, namely with the expensive software AspectHD (500 $).
I have the new Premiere Pro CS3 and then tried to run my (Canon XHA1) and the 24p (Canon HV20) 30p smooth side.

Ok, I've NEN other thread views and hdvsplit installed. Cancels but steadily, with its output device error message that would provide nothing more .. or so.
Then plugins for premiere 2.0 fetched and installed.
Somehow there is in every video that I am on the pc copy an approximately 20 minute point I can not see when I watch the video. Most s.der 15th Minutes ... and until otherwise s.der 40th minute.
What iss this? And why Jerkiness, pull the videos after it? What is just going with the HV20? Thought the device would be the device the 2007th
But I prefer not to judge hastily .. is surely s.der software.

Hast thou in DV or HDV recorded + captured? In HDV, it is perhaps therefore not simply redundant, since your calculator is not fast enough.
