Hi,
I wanted to ask if it is absolutely necessary to buy expensive HDV tapes to HD to take pictures or you can buy standard DV cassette and thus have the same quality with my Canon HV30?

I was getting this for my HV20 tapes and very happy.

Yes, HDV lands are those of the typical MiniDV cassettes.

it is just always recommended for a guy to stay, so read-write heads and not with different substances are smeared.

So the HDV tapes to be dependent of higher quality.
With a dropout you just stop a bigger problem than DV.
For the good of the tape drive it was supposedly better, but think it all depends on it you see above a lot of films or just making a little time.
So I always had the DV tapes, not the more expensive ones are needed. But allegedly recommended.
