Frage von beiti:My films are finished as AVI files in Canopus HQ codec before (issued with Edius Neo). For some purposes I would like this H.264 files in the MP4 container.
Unfortunately, most of the free encoder (super, WinFF) the AVI format with Canopus HQ codec not read. Then I would have a detour to create an uncompressed AVI, but that is for longer shooting forth from the memory requirement impracticable. Another compressed format (eg MPEG 2) would need to synonymous, but it is a qualitative way and costs a lot of rendering time.
Now I am on a combination of VirtualDub and Xvid encountered. With VirtualDub leave my HQ AVIs open (thanks VfW codec installed), and Xvid enables output in H.264 - but only in the AVI container.
What
either another of the VfW codecs supported (and thus my HQ AVIs can read) and behind a MP4 file output
or a possibility, with VirtualDub and Xvid MP4 directly run
or a way to Xvid files from VirtualDub AVI container without Neucodierung in an MP4 container to pack?

Hello beiti,
I think here:
[...] And Xvid enables output in H.264 - but only in the AVI container. you have misunderstood something.
XVID MPEG-4 part 2 video
H.264: MPEG-4 Part 10 video
And despite their similarity to be something completely different.

The XviD files without umkonvertieren into a MP4 container using the tools "Yamb" pack.
In VirtualDub you can synonymous h264 encoding using x.264. This is called "x264 VfW" and that you will find here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/x264vfw/
This synonymous you can create an AVI file with h264 inside and then with this Yamb into a MP4 container Muxen.
OR
You organize your MeGUI. This may be your files using Avisynth directly into a MP4 container pack and so can not use old versions of how the x264 VfW Project.

I realize now that MPEG4 is a much more complex issue than I previously thought. Because I must again to investigate exactly which format I really do.
With MPEG2 was the world stop still clear. ;)
Yamb sounds in any case have been useful to, and synonymous "x264 vfw" I will occasionally try.
