Frage von Christian Buhtz:Hi,
I have a few questions Grundlegenede.
All the talk is always about the codecs and bitrates. But how do I get
überhaupt out what exactly in a video file inside it? From the
File extension, I can only (if ever) to the container closed.
Then I look for a convenient way of videos (such as mp4, various
Asian) in the usual format to convert. VirtualDub Please no!
Ehr something like the source file -> output format select -> button
press -> Wait -> Done. ;)
Incidentally, I use WinXP.

If you want to change codecs or containers? When you need codecs
transcoding, which is long and the quality deteriorates and the
Codecs are not free in certain containers, namely because with AVI
these codecs problems.
Therefore I would suggest you exercise your new machine
and adjust at least mp4 (m4v/m4a) to the "usual" containers
sort. This is synonymous to Blu-Ray to find.

Super offers me IMHO far too many options. In general, I will
simply of one format into another format. [1]
Size, or that I even want to change FPS rarely happens however. A
easy to use program would be values of simple

I do not convert from pleasure, but because I, for example, hardware

This will be the newcomer Avidemux pretty close. Contrary to the name
this is a fairly universal converter for the most current
Format. Codec settings you have but as synonymous active, and the
Program is anything but mature.
For example, when you save it adds no auto file extension, it can
does not make sense with different folders for source and target
bypass and fails s.Read source-only media like DVD.
Why do you want to convert at all?
Is your problem perhaps synonymous with a flexible player like VLC
Media Player Classic or solved?

My Conceptronic Media Giant does not play mp4 files s.bzw shows

Nope, on Blu-Ray, an MPEG-2 transport stream with modified
Header (for better random access) is used.

Well, true, there's one or the other Macke. But otherwise
Avidemux fairly easy to use.

Right. But as long as I only with avi, mpg and mp3 work can I

Can you explain? I encode partially directly of my calculator on
my external hard drive and have never had problems.
What would be the "sensible"?

The reason is that ADM for MPG files to create an index and in the
same folder as the source file. And that goes for DVDs, unfortunately not. : - /
Otherwise you should part with Umlauts in file and folder names to watch.
This may have the strangest effects. (For example, the. Stat file elsewhere
created as the target file, which is the second pass is totally confused.)
Synonymous But when I look at times a new version and want a batch mode
I would do 90% of my coding with Avidemux.

That could easily circumnavigate. If the folder is not writeable

The batch mode there is: File -> Add to joblist or File -> View
Joblist.
What I still have not figured out: How can I correct
Aspect ratio settings?
Specifically, it comes to DVB recordings in 16:9. So far I have
not be placed on the keeping of the original resolution
720x576 smoothly breitformatig would play. :-(

Some codecs can adjust the aspect ratio.
And there are probably in most (modern?) Containers a synonymous
Field for that, but as with avidemux, you probably can not access it,
but requires specialized software for the container.

Yes and no. I meant a "real" batch mode, where one more example videos with
the same settings on a slide can encode * without * for each video
setting individually.
At the moment I help myself by getting a script (for my
Word processing program) was created that the script files for
ADM produces job list. Is probably not less expensive than 20-30
Files separately to the job list to add, but I might have a script
write that the script for the word processing program writes. B-)

I've never understood anyway. Sure, nichtquadratische pixels. But really
next helps me not synonymous.
Play using VLC is an acceptable solution? Here you can so that
Aspect ratio set.

"Special software"?
Grade nachgeguckt times:
VirtualDub (Mod) can indeed access to the codec settings. There
XviD is in the "Aspect Ratio" where the aspect ratio of pixels or
can adjust the video. However, with the warning that it would like to synonymous
ignored.
And synonymous with DivX can adjust the aspect ratio. (But if there's
is promising?)
In Avidemux is available in the settings for the XviD Encoder also
Input pixel aspect ratio "(the" Motion & Misc. ").
(For DVD and (S) VCD, there are many options 4:3 and 16:9.)
Helps you s.next, Wolfgang?

I use the QT4 version, because there is not synonymous under Main.
