Frage von kittt:Hello.
for my school doing a presentation on "color grading. I show more precisely the differences of American and German series in Color, Picture. But suppose I have a German series (bull of Tölz) and an American (CSI) and using these videos explain the differences.
have a question about this: who knows the most common differences? on what will be the bull of Toelz rotated? The Digi Betacam? CSI will be rotated to film I suppose ...
what about with the color correction from then?
if those who left or interesting books on this subject knows, please tell me.
would be very grateful to you! "

CSI is so, what color is concerned, not just a typical American series. Look at the Comparison times "Crossing Jordan" or "Shark" - it is a completely different look.
Incidentally synonymous vary the look of the various spin-off CSI: CSI Las Vegas is mostly colored in black ", ie s.die typical Las Vegas night scenes adapted. CSI Miami has Florida very warm colors, very happy and often combined with Farbverlaufsfiltern (eg orange sky). CSI New York has a very cool, metallic look.
The rotation format is only crucial for the future look, because as most in the post production is done. Quite apart of the colors play camera work (oblique perspectives) and cut a large role in the look of CSI.
DigiBeta in theatrical productions is synonymous not common in Germany (up to soaps). Depending on your budget is at 16 mm, Super 16, 35 mm or more recently in various digital formats, HD-rotated.
That applies to Germany and USA equally, while in the U.S. tend to put more money is spent and you tend to be larger / more expensive formats picks.
I know it is not certain, but I type that the "bull" to even 16 or Super 16 is rotated, while CSI determined at 35 mm is filmed (due to the HD-recovery).

... Such "stories" like CSI Miami is not only in the Post settled. Even when the recording is scrupulously appropriate environment for interior and exterior photographs respected - the colors of the Loacation have to be consistent (or coherent be made for interior shots).
Corresponding light (color filter) is already used for interior shots - with Außenaufnehmen is blue with orange + course filters worked. Examples:

In the post will be the saturation and contrast properly again geboostet - often synonymous only very selectively, that is not the whole picture:
