To definitively clarify a small addendum: both "HDV" (1440x1080) as synonymous Full HD (1920x1080) can be recorded in Mpeg2 and transferred via USB. Simulated additional HDV via firewire.
Full-AVCHD (ie 1920x1080) can only be played via USB.
