Frage von variocam:I have an old MiniDV cassette recording of a few years ago with about 30 minutes film.
This I would like to transfer into a computer format. Which format is in there? And above all, how or where I can do it (and what it costs). I myself (except the tape of course) no data-processing equipment ...
Thank you in advance for an answer
Antwort von beiti:
30 minutes DV-AVI on the computer are between 6 and 7 GB. That would fit on two data DVDs. DV-AVI is lossless (ie 1:1, the data of) the tape, and you can then further process itself.
The dubbing anyone can do that with a DV camcorder, a Firewire card and a DVD Burners has (so) any initial adhesion moviemakers. There are commercial Überspieldienste synonymous.
Alternatively, you can dub the material to a standard video DVD. Then it all fits on it onto a disc, but it is already compressed in MPEG2 and can not be it further so comfortable.

Hello markus and beiti (and of course, synonymous everyone else ..)
Something like behrend.tv I was looking for - so a reliable Überspielmöglichkeit. 8 euros sounds fair.
The film is already finished cut, but I would occasionally look at a backup on the computer for archiving and. If I have beiti understood mpeg2 is a good format, if you will mans small and DV-Avi, to have it 1:1.
I think first and foremost is accuracy and existing play important opportunity. Storage capacity is secondary.
Can you play both formats (DV-AVI and / or mpeg2) on normal players (eg Windows Media Player)?
Have you ever thank you for the assistance!
Antwort von beiti:
So you can play MPEG2, have a MPEG2 codec installed. (This happens for example when you install a software DVD player.) The DV codec for DV-AVI should bring with newer Windows versions can.
A mere play on the PC other formats (eg Windows Media, RealVideo, etc. likely) better. For this purpose, DV-AVI is a lot to combat space and MPEG2 to old-fashioned.
However, you can, if you have the original in DV-AVI on data DVDs, then convert the film of himself in any format. Thus, DV-AVI is the best basis for different applications.
