Self wants to DVD of my DVD recorder on my PC and bring it in to mpeg convert it with tmpeg cutting.
DVD, I can easily copy to your PC and play synonymous. The transformation is a little more difficult. I have already tried some Progs (super, streamclip, xmpeg, vob2mpg) but had little success. I got a file with the extension mpg and this was in different players, but if I part in Tmpeg loaded and have tried to cut, was always behind file out where the sound was missing. Also read the file of not Tmpeg into another format.
So there is a possibility as I have a homemade DVD into mpg convert it (if possible with a German manual).

So DVD's (even if rotated or films) you need not in principle mpg convert, since they are already in MPG format encoded (mpeg2). The VOB's can also be further soundtracks, etc., but the video stream is always MPG. A re-conversion only worsened the quality.
The cutting itself (ie no effects, crossfades) Tmpeg goes with how you've already noticed, with mpeg2 files not readily, then the sound is missing. You should only Demultiplexing (ie Picture and Sound-track separated), then individually cut and then again - a huge effort since the intersection of the soundtrack another software requires.
It's with a tool that synonymous mpeg2 files with sound in one step can be cut. There's some tools, but most are very inaccurate and it has very nice afterwards Asynchronität in the video. The best tool for this is about my experiences "Chopper XP". This is specifically for VOB files developed course synonymous with pure MPG2 files. I cut so even DVB-T recordings, because otherwise fail most tools;) Great Is exactly what the synchronicity are behind, and very fast.
If you have your video but still want aufpäppen (Effects, color, inserts, etc.), I would demux the video first. Then you can give both tracks, so video and sound into a video editing software download, which supports mpeg2, and do everything at the airport.
