Hello. I have a question: What software can you give me the digitizing of DV tapes recommend? What software to obtain the best raw material?

Since DV tapes do not need to be digitized (because they already are) is completely no preference. The material is just copied.

Currently, I own only Magix video deluxe 2006 + 2008 and Movie Maker. This time I had Ulead Video Studio tested.

I've noticed that each program, different formats and qualities from the DV tapes created. Ulead was extremely weak. Magix something better. However, the quality is still not that I was thrilled.

So I think it but differences must exist, right?

Take the program WinDV. Thus you'll get 1:1 in the DV AVI files. What will your editing program of it, is another matter.

Then you have probably not via FireWire on plays, but probably via RCA cable and in the editing program is not logically "Digital Video" as the recording format to choose, but "Analog Video". And in this column editing programs offer individual quality formats (eg DVD-quality DVD-standard quality, etc). Thus it may well be that you are different you get bad results.

If you but (what is normal for DV) with a FireWire cable transmission, you can only "Digital Video" option and therefore everything is 1:1 copies without quality loss. Then it is completely synonymous no preference, with whatever editing program you do that, both in Movie Maker, the same data as in, like Final Cut Pro or Premiere ...

WinDV you can of course synonymous only use it when you have your camera connected via FireWire searched. With Composite (Chinchkabel) WinDV can not start and you will not get recording ...

Some programs such as Pinnacle Studio can be seen as synonymous MPEG recording format, select, so there was already converted (practically "on the fly").
