Hi folks!
I hope I make no stupid question. My problem is the following:
I've got my external hard drive with full DV material of my friends and family. I will now get rid of the stuff and distribute s.die people so that they do afterward synonymous nor synonymous and could edit unbearbeitet can perform.
Because I use the computer because of their opinions enormous size is not easy to copy DVDs may I thought that I simply do draus Xvid. However, here I am off the miserable quality. The Xvid videos can I find really bad. You have approximately 2900kbit / s and the normal DV Resolutionund are interlaced. (Can this rate is still on DivX players?)
Then I trial times the x264 codec, with about 2500 kbit / s and the result has been to me a thousand times better. Unfortunately, here it is playable in the near future into the water, which can not represent a normal player. (Think maybe with XMBC?)

My question now is how I use the video files should s.besten pass. It would make me rich, if the material is only half the size would be. DV I do not like because then I would have countless DVDs vollbrennen, with videos, which will almost always never be. Irgndwo what I did with Motion-JPEG read. What say you? Irgnedwie you have to compress the DV but can?

I just wanted to say that I have Xvid videos encoded with two runs did. The poor performance surprised me, anyway, I thought it was a reasonably good codec and
here Is DivX better?

mhh so I had often with xvid actually not too bad experience .... next to the data rate can indeed synonymous nor influence a variety of other settings if I remember correctly - maybe at times "qualified" rotate controller .. and increased suchgenauigkeit activate ...
otherwise versuch's with divx, in my opinion should in principle similar results as xvid deliver ...

Besides the original there is practically only a DVD (Mpeg2 - 6-7 Mbit / s PCM and Sound, everything else is botch, the short time you will regret it.

Either the people can use a DV tape or play it via firewire from their Cam transferred to the calculator, then DV tape, or they can not, then file copies with DVDs (4.38 GB = 20 min.)
Everything else is ready to botch.

Oh God, I hate it, MPEGs to encode. It takes eeeewwwwiiiiggggggg .... And burn DVD, I hate synonymous. ==> I hate IR.

If you all hate so much, then buy you an external hard drive, playing the stuff on it and then s.in the cupboard. (cost 100 Euros if necessary)

Despite hard drive because the system is free and you've got a lot of time behind the plate and remains for backups ect.

You have the stuff already on an external hard drive. Klemm thee among the poor, visiting your friends / family, plug the disk into their PC and play on whatever the want. Fertich ...

If You Do better AC3, then you take your stuff for AC3. PCM I suppose, because I can handle it better and do DD when it is necessary.
PS: After I cut myself with a map is not necessary to work in my case.
