Hello,
I read that the quality of a runterkonvertierte DV HDV recording with the HC1 is not to be special. Is the quality of the recordings even with a normal DV 3-Chip Camera to compare? Want at the moment next to DV work and now do not know whether the purchase of the HC1 is worthwhile for me.

I'm using the HC1. I'm fully satisfied with the quality. However, I always films in hdv.
When I want a project must be done very quickly, I use the Runterkonvertierung of HC1 to cut into DV to (there is some) than in hdv.
The picture quality is absolutely in Ordung. Comparison of the 3-Chipper of Panasonic is the quality of my buddies in my opinion, rather higher.
However, you can only shoot in 16:9.
If you want to quickly shoot in HDV Cam is certainly the wrong net. But if you still want DV s filming few years, is probably a pure DV Cam 3chip the better (and especially cheaper) solution.
