Frage von cycleball:What now?
One group is licensed of the DVD Forum and the other of Philips!
But which is now compatible with the majority of DVD players?
Rohlingtyp with what we have so few problems?
Or is burned possibly an S-VCD () is compatible with more DVD players?
Antwort von AndyZZ:
If I am right in memory of the DVD-R is standardized as the only officially standardized recording medium by the DVD Forum. At the same time confirms the compatibility with the pressed discs.
You will not find a DVD + R, DVD bears the official logo.
Theoretically, should not the DVD-R have the highest compatibility. Although I synonymous with the DVD + R only once a player has problems (we had the deal under certain circumstances, if you set the bookmark in the burning software on DVD-ROM if the burner supports it).

Theoretically, DVD-R discs offer a higher compatibility. But only if the player evaluates the type - is one of the Typenbyte on DVD-R (do not ask me how to do it, but that was the time of CT) test, then play the DVD + R into as many devices.
Theoretically, DVD + R discs are however still a little bit better in quality - although there are now synonymous of junk, so anything but relative.

I agree with the DVD-R Group s.and supplements (m) a typical link. The following post is synonymous something about the compatibility of different blanks (Marks / Noname).
