Hello,
I try just a DV tape (ca.57min) to a DVD5 to bring. 60min on a DVD5 so should bring the best quality.
I use TMPGEnc and have already tried 3 times a DVD vollzubekommen, but the DVD was issued so far always too small:
1. 3.16 GB with VBR (6000-8000 kb / s) and MPEG2 Layer Sound 224Kb / s
2. 3.26 GB with VBR (6000-8000 kb / s) and Dolby Digital 2.0 sound 224Kb / s
3. 3.89 GB with CBR (8000 kb / s) and LPCM sound 1536kb / s
After last attempt, I was very surprised that not even because the DVD was full. A better space and lavish sound format you can not use and over 8000kb / s Picture Inkompabilität because you should not use ...
The overall bill is yet to 60min to DVD5 to get the best quality? What makes it still makes the DVD really synonymous to vollzubekommen?

you do not let them upset. Although the capacity of a DVD is not exploited, the stored video is very good. The quality of the MPEG2 encoder that has a much greater influence on the achievable quality than the data rate.
Brenne times test a DVD with different settings and then try to identify the differences. If the encoder is good, you'll get the DVD quality you can not keep apart.

In my software (Magix) and with my (actually exaggerated good) "Optimal settings" fit, according to forecast of approximately 1:15 a.m. on a single-layer DVD. One hour per DVD is actually better than very good.
My personal experience in recent months:
1:35 p.m. per DVD -> still a super result
2:00 p.m. per DVD -> you can see it's slowly getting worse, but still very neat.
So I would suggest: Enjoy yourself on your good quality film and try not to vollzubekommen DVD with violence, which creates more problems than it solves.
