Hello everyone,
I sometimes cutting ne question of the DVD material:
I'm planning to cut some of my favorite movies, a few trailers for my ideas. I work with Premiere 6.0. As far as I understood it, the DVD format is already compressed in a certain way as mpeg2. When I use the video then the DV-AVI format conversion in order to cut it in Premiere, I expect the fact that it comes to jerk? Because the compression works but, for example all 10 frames a full image is saved, but only in between the change of one to the next image. So we can probably synonymous mpeg files just do not cut picture. How is that now when I mpeg2 converter The DVD material in Avi-DV? Do I cut with the restrictions set off or the material can edit, as it would come of such a MiniDV camcorder?

Your way is very bad time - in terms of time and quality.
Converting to AVIand back to MPEG2 coding costs space, time and quality.
Search you an editing program, the MPEG-dominated section. The good ones can cut as synonymous betweenthe index images. I myself have so noErfahrung.
Alone with an old, free version of TMPEGEnc you can cut at least s.den index images.
