Frage von Peterpsi:Hello.
So I try to leave recordings on DVD to burn. Because I almost think that I create for everyone Take a separate chapter on the DVD, usually 5-20 seconds. The result is on my calculator and another stand-alone DVD player fine. Only unfortunately not on a stand-alone Toshiba player of not. (SD-160) At the end of some chapters (not all) remain Picture and Sound are bucking a little. Then begins the new chapter.
It does not matter whether the Chapter s.Anfang or the end of the DVD is blank or whatever it is. The errors I have already excluded.
Question now is how I fix it.
A few details:
I create (under Linux) to DVD with mencoder and dvdauthor from the DV data:
First:
mencoder-ovc lavc-oac lavc-s.lavcresample = 48000-sRate is used 48000-lavcopts /
vcodec = mpeg2video: vrc_buf_size = 1835: vrc_maxrate = 9800: vbitrate = 8000: = keyint 15: Trelle: /
ildct: Ilme: mbd = 2: precmp = 2: subcmp = 2: cmp = 2: dia =- 10: predia =- 10: cbp: mv0: vqmin = 1: /
lmin = 1: dc = 10: vstrict = 0: acodec = ac3: abitrate = 448: aspect = 4 / 3-phase vf = u, harddup /
-mc 0-of mpeg-mpegopts format = dvd: tsaf: muxrate = 20000 /
-o OUTPUT.mpg INUPUT. DV
then I create the DVD with dvdauthor. here the xml file for:
<dvdauthor>
<vmgm>
<menus>
<video format="pal" aspect="4:3"/>
<audio format="ac3" lang="de"/>
<pgc entry="title">
<vob file="menu.vob" pause="inf"/>
<button> jump title 1; </ button>
<button> jump titleset 1 menu entry root; </ button>
</ PGC>
</ menus>
</ vmgm>
<titleset>
<menus>
<video format="pal" aspect="4:3"/>
<audio format="ac3" lang="de"/>
<pgc entry="root">
<vob file="menu2.vob" pause="inf"/>
<button> jump title 1 Chapter 01; </ button>
<button> Jump Title 1 chapter 10; </ button>
<button> Jump Title 1 chapter 13; </ button>
<button> jump title 1 Chapter 20; </ button>
<button> jump title 1 Chapter 29; </ button>
<button> jump title 1 Chapter 42; </ button>
<button> jump title 1 Chapter 63; </ button>
<button> jump title 1 Chapter 68; </ button>
<button> jump title 1 Chapter 71; </ button>
</ PGC>
</ menus>
<titles>
<video format="pal" aspect="4:3"/>
<audio format="ac3" lang="de"/>
<pgc>
<vob file="A002.mpg" />
<vob file="A003.mpg" />
<vob file="A004.mpg" />
<vob file="A005.mpg" />
.
.
. (etc.)
.
.
<vob file="A085.mpg" />
<post> call vmgm menu 1 </ post>
</ PGC>
</ titles>
</ titleset>
</ dvdauthor>
I do burn the DVD with k3b on a NEC ND-3520A.
I know that the question is very specific, but maybe somebody has an idea or experience is synonymous with the Toshiba player.
Thank you very much! Gruß, Peter

Your software I do not know, but the symptom that you describe. A cut in the coding means of the auto Mpeg2 streams not an I-frame. You have to at every intersection so a compression markers, in order to ensure that the chapter closed GOPs contains (or you codierst the DV material only from the authoring program). Panasonic and Pioneer seem with the wild chapters no problem to have, Mustek are. The increase synonymous with some purchase DVDs in the menu with the message "File Error" from. I would not give it too much.
The purpose of such short chapters, however, I can not understand. The DVD specification limits the number of chapters of a stream on 99th That is something we do not ausreizen. But each to his own.
A maximum bitrate of 9800 and a target bitrate of VBR 8000 makes no sense. Either or 6000 CBR 8000 and including VBR. It could in fact synonymous to compression spikes act at too high a total data rate to run a lot of DVDs are no longer around. Everything about 8000 is crap and for a lot of stand alone for a cause bucking or stuttering.

Thanks for the quick help!
Yes, that with the I-frame was probably the problem. If the images of the number opened up in 15 takes the player had no problems.
I'm the problem, but bypassed by the chapters I have done title. Actually, I was anyway, because the purpose for each take a title to pack is a purely practical. The DVD is not only to view, but synonymous serve as a backup. I plan in the future again to edit recordings and otherwise to cut and collect. Therefore, Takes remain separate.
... yes, that with the limitation to 99 chapters / titles can I find annoying - but until now there's always just enough ...
My dvdauthor.xml now looks like this:
...
<titles>
<video format="pal" aspect="4:3"/>
<audio format="ac3" lang="de"/>
<pgc>
<vob file="A001.mpg" />
<post> jump title 2; </ post>
</ PGC>
<pgc>
<vob file="A002.mpg" />
<post> jump title 3; </ post>
</ PGC>
<pgc>
<vob file="A003.mpg" />
<post> jump title 4; </ post>
</ PGC>
etc. ...
