5.1 synonymous with the whole works?

Although it no direct answer to your question, but why do not you try it with your DVD-Burners. For DVD's without the CSS copy protection you succeed in this way flawless copies with DD5.1. Simply shrinking the DVD Capture and depending on your preference / necessity to rid of menus, select individual audio tracks, etc. Also for copy-protected DVD's, there are known to be simple solutions I can recommend, but you is not and will (at times read

Hello,
So if you want to dub in 5.1, only a DVD, you can not capture sound and video as an analog signal, but must directly transfer the files, then you have the DVD copied to your PC.
But perhaps you want to edit the video, so need it as avi? Then you can either just add the sound with a particular program 5.1, only the video on TV card, or you can use the video for a program that you make from an AVI file. In principle, all this is possible without a TV card!
Would you but a video (!) (So, of course, from the external video player), etc. dub in 5.1, you have a problem, plus you really need a TV card that supports 5.1, but unfortunately you can not call!
I hope you could at least help somewhat.
Love Greetings
