DV Date possessions with the subtitle file is created and then inserted with Virtual Dub, went really well and I am not synonymous with expensive. Lasted only a little until the tools were set so that it understands and with 2-3 clicks future has everything.

1. Video in DVdate http://paul.glagla.free.fr/dvdate_en.htm load (when the options (F10) in the tab "Inlay" the desired settings for position and make Untertitelänge. Hello!
Ne question time .. So I let the DvDate the date immediately after the capture to DV-AVI "clean burn", it works well, without any intermediate steps. It's always visible! You will then be the result of a 2 nd AVI with date and time.
Do you have the DVD for you with your method of quasi created a subtitle? And did you do that with the DV-AVI gecapturten made and then the encoding of the embedded?
