So a software needs not to have any, but you only have a corresponding software with your video into a format that the others can play - wmv, Quicktime, Flash or what the possibilities are even greater. What kind of software with the data of the SR8 can handle, I do not know, but Sony was very often here in the discussion. The search provides you find helpful information.

The only codec that really has almost everyone is Mpeg.

MPEG1, to be exact. There are so few of those. Would be commonplace else MPEG2, MP3 and MPEG4.
