Hello,
Questions such as these previously appeared only in connection with video burned onto DVDs, but maybe you can find in one of the posts linked in the following posting is also a solution:
DVD Burning In the case of your DVD player (Philips!) May be the DVD + R, the preferred medium?

Have you accidentally glued label on your DVDs?
That was in the past, a welcome possibility of error, but seems now to be a little forgotten.

So I feel it always like that when I gave CDs / DVDs. If they're scratched, occurs that simply are not anymore. Perhaps you are a smoker? For me, inexplicably, I've made with DVD-player experience: Both Sonyals synonymous Philips produce players who are not only fundamentally prudish, but synonymous react extremely sensitive to nicotine films on the laser lens!
I must say that I was working four years in a video store. The following knowledge: 90% (!) Of the complaints were of people who took advantage of the Sony or Philips player. The beasts are simply too sensitive laser so that they can use under "optimal conditions" hardly. Changes in temperature, smoking, ... that like the do not.
Babbled enough. This has with your problem probably is not much to do.

At jens: I'm using blanks of Tevion (CD-R)!
At StefanS: No. I have not had one cd in it had the sticker on it!
At Keff: The CD's I've always scratched into the covers and cd's difficult (ie, no deep scratches)!
Well maybe I'll find out somewhere else what? But thank s.alle!

And the lens of the player? Make the time but to gently and clean the lens. It either goes with a leather cloth or other lint-free cloth. No towels or wet cloths to use glasses!
Here, however, you should make sure that voids the warranty on your player, as you destroy the security Sigel, if you open it.

There are really met many good tips! :-)
One idea I have: When burning of CDs, I can in my burning software (Instant CD / DVD) specify a type of expiration date, ie until when the CD is valid. Since I usually give a date in 100 years. I do not live longer anyway, and then I need the CDs no longer safe. ;-)
BTW: scratches on CDs are not as sensitive as DVDs, but it is not the few deep scratches, making the problems, but the large number of small and tiny scratches. Eventually, the surface is dull and then the laser can not properly recognize the data. That is like the cataracts. ;-)
