Sure you can AE synonymous with "cut", but that is no fun for lack of real support. The question of the proper outcome depends primarily on the chosen output format. Internally, AE - like any other Compositingprogramm synonymous - uncompressed RGB. So if you more like family reunions or verwurschteln want / need / can, you should look for a real editing program scout and only the important wirklichz Effects in AE make.
