Frage von go4java:Hi,
I encode my original AVI files (recorded with a dig. videocamera SONY DCR-PC101E PAL (built 2002)) glad to MPEG-4 / DivX / XviD (with VirtualDub).
I have an older PC system from Aldi with a Pentium 4 2.66 MHz and an on-board graphics.
The encoding is very logical as a time-consuming.
Which system (hardware) would be for encoding operations optimally?
Many greetings!

I am probably a E6300 Core2Duo 2800 Mhz übertacktet would need to be well suited. Or any fast computer with at least 2 cores (CPUs).
The graphics card is not relevant IMHO. It is only on CPU and RAM. For DV and MPEG-2, it is synonymous to the HDD (s).
Möglicherwiese your system is synonymous with a Pentium D upgradeable (single CPU changed). This could be the speed for at least Xvid nearly doubled.

I have a video nandub min after exported AVI (20GB for 20 minutes, what else does not have that mechanism so I will have to use MM for WMV), and the CPU will not exceed 50% capacity.
At the subsequent wmv compress it in only 30%.
What you have a E6400, when it is running so slow.
Otherwise, there is nothing active except eMule s.laufen ...
Can it be that these programs use only one CPU?
Is there possibly an VirtualDub the multi-version is?
Preferring synonymous with the equal opportunity to other format to save it. Wmv Eg. I know that this has for some time no longer officially possible (legally), but if there are ways the later self to make possible ...
