Hello,
because my camera in the years I have been giving me now a SonyHDR-SR12 zuzulegen.
Now, I am not sure (and this is not synonymous found anything) like with the file format is.
Can I have the movie recorded on the disk from the PC and then drag me Adobe Premiere 6.5 editing?
Previously hab 'I played the tape and then recorded on the PC but that should indeed be the past, right?

Hello,
I have the SR 12 and therefore knows what I'm talking about:
If you look at the Cam s.PC followed Camera s.der you can choose whether you have the hard drive or memory stick or connect print photos, or burn movies on DVD like.
You select the hard drive is an external hard drive recognized. You can then (synonymous with no power supply) data read and write.
SD files directly in the MPEG format, HD files have the extension. MTS.
You can of course, the data transferred directly, but if you do with the software importierst PMB is still a. Modde file created (which you can use I have not yet found out, believe it is as an index of PMB) HD files will have then the extension. M2TS and can of Premiere Pro CS 4 directly processed.
In addition, you can set any other data on the hard drive pack (I've since directly Portable VLC with the correct codec draufgepackt so I s.jedem PC HD videos can ankucken).

Are you satisfied with the Camera?
I've now even an old Camera and D8 because importing is actually quite simple. Easy to play and record with Premiere.
The HD files are the best format, the camera delivers, right?
Whether you somewhere as a short file gets to try out?

yes, the HD files are the best that the cam can deliver (what else).
I can also time a file upload, then can give it a try.
So I'm happy with the Camera. Although there is often said of the Canon much better (what vllt. Might even agree), I can not complain. For Low-Light haste sometimes problems with the autofocus, disturbs me is not so, because I usually turn on the one hand if it is bright and easy on the other hand, possibly soon to manual focus and push through the front wheels s.der controlled.
If it is bright, the camera works flawlessly and provides beautiful pictures synonymous.
The only thing that really bothers me is that there are not many manual recording and gives an often synonymous numbers are missing, a pity.
Otherwise, I cam recommend in any case.

I'm looking also for this camera, with the Choice is synonymous nor the HV30, the tape recording, however, made me the sony sr11 in handling and display fully convinced.
To m2ts file: The uncompressed files to edit or play, however, is easier than said. The handling is more than just jerky, playback is not synonymous went up first time.
My tip: With NeoScene of Cineform files can be almost in Cineform.avi Lossless files to convert, of the Sony Vegas and Adobe Premiere are well handled, but in my Premiere synonymous only choppy. With Cineform installed NeoPlayer of (free) you can see the files in WMP synonymous well reflect the expected sound synonymous to solve problems. Unfortunately, the software is not quite cheap ....
The HV30 tape or another camcorder to have a good archiving, no format problems (always compatible), better quality (not to be converted), but not so good handling and image control wg. great display ...

So I would take the Canon HV30. With me is now synonymous Son yHC9 and Canon HV30 for Choice. HV40 eliminated because they cost more than new cam, but no loud announcements (remarkable) has new features. Sonyhat with the operator's approach fell significantly bessre than Canon, but the Low-HC9 Light quality of the sow all really (to put it clearly to say).
