To me it looks as though you have hidden file extensions in Explorer. The. Avi file extension is not shown then. Generally, no hiding of file extensions is recommended. Too easily we can impute such infectious viehzeug ...
You can use the movie before burning into a MPEG2 movie to convert (encode) and author as DVD-Video.
If you can plan a Nero AVI to DVD (MPEG2) encoder and an authoring tool or purchase an mitkaufen in the large full package. Do you have Nero 7 with Recode or Vision, I believe there is in it.
Alternatively, you can make it synonymous with TMPGEnc encode the MPEG2 encoder.
